The Dry River is a magazine about physical space. About a city that is expansive and complicated. But it was largely produced online. Through text messages and Facetimes and Zoom calls.
Two of the editors, Remi and Ella, former roommates and dive bar co-workers, live in LA. (Ella is from LA.) But Maya and Madelyn live on the East coast, their connection to LA is less about their physical presence, but familial histories and popular media.
The pieces in this issue explore LA from the ground up, traversing its endless highways and side streets. It was a true pleasure seeing and understanding LA through the eyes of Angelenos, new residents, and even those abroad.
We hope you enjoy!
Much love,
The Dry River editors, Remi Riordan, Ella Morner-Ritt, Maya Jenkins, Madelyn Blaney
